How the writing on Glow In My Own Way gets made, what it will not do, and what happens when I get something wrong.
Who writes here
I do, all of it, under my own name. Nothing on this site is bought from a content mill, and there is no byline here belonging to a person who does not exist. If that ever changes it will be said on this page first.
First person, on purpose
These are notes about one face, mine. When I say a colour did nothing for me, that is a report about me and not a finding about the colour. I try to keep that line visible in the writing, because the beauty internet blurs it constantly and the blurring is how a personal preference ends up sounding like a rule.
What is deliberately absent
No star ratings and no scores, since a number implies a precision that a personal impression does not have. No before and after photographs. No prices quoted as fact, because they move and a stale price is a small lie. No invented product cards. No claims about what a product does to skin at a level I am not qualified to assess.
Where confidence comes from
Mostly from time. I do not write about something the week I try it. If a piece is based on one afternoon it says so. Where I am describing a pattern I have watched in myself over years, I say that instead, because the two are not the same kind of evidence and should not read the same.
Money and independence
Some links earn a commission, set out in full in the affiliate disclosure. No brand reads a piece before it goes up, no brand pays for coverage or for a conclusion, and a commission has never decided whether something gets mentioned. Where the two would conflict, the piece keeps the sentence and loses the commission.
Updates and corrections
Every page shows when it was last updated. I revise these often, because I keep changing my mind, and a revision of substance carries a note about what changed rather than being made silently. A reader who took something from the old version deserves to know it moved.
Not medical or professional advice
This is a personal site. Nothing here is medical advice and nothing here is a professional opinion about your skin. For anything painful, spreading, or not responding to sensible care, see a clinician who can actually look at it.
